Gene Cotton




Gene Cotton is a pop and folk singer/songwriter. He had four Billboard Magazine Top 40 songs during the years 1976–1978. In the UK he is most remembered for the song "Me And The Elephant" which was a radio hit there.

Cotton began releasing contemporary Christian music albums during the Jesus Movement. He would start to crossover in the middle 70s until he became a completely secular artist in the late 70s. He registered seven times on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for four different labels while having six of his songs cross over to the Adult Contemporary chart and three to the Country charts.
