All Saved Freak Band
The All Saved Freak Band was a pioneering Christian hard rock band who forged, along with Agape and Larry Norman, a new genre of Gospel music, beginning in 1968 in Geneva, Ohio.
ASFB was unique in the fact that it had twelve members in its ensemble which included violin and cello. Also of note is the inclusion of Glenn Schwartz, former guitarist for the James Gang (pre Joe Walsh) and Pacific Gas & Electric who scored a radio hit with the apocalyptic rocker "Are You Ready?".
Schwartz was considered one of the top electric blues guitarists of the day and personally was invited to play at a birthday party given for Jimi Hendrix. On occasion, Glass Harp's Phil Keaggy would fill in for Schwartz when needed.
